El pasado 8 de octubre, cumpliendo con el Plan de Actividades anual de la Academia General del Aire (AGA), los 55 alféreces alumnos de 4º curso de la especialidad de vuelo pertenecientes a la LXXIV promoción, han visitado la Base Aérea de Talavera la Real (Badajoz) y Ala 23.
El Jefe de la Base, Coronel D. Jesús Rodríguez de Castro, recibió a los alumnos y a sus profesores a pie de pista, donde también se realizó una foto de grupo con los dos aviones representativos de nuestra flota: el F-5M y el Predator B.
Seguidamente, en el salón de actos de la Unidad, procedió a darles la bienvenida y ofrecerles una breve presentación sobre la importante misión de esta Escuela de Caza y Ataque en su formación como futuros pilotos de combate del Ejército del Aire, además de proporcionarles información sobre la nueva especialidad de vuelo V1N como piloto de aeronaves tripuladas remotamente (RPAS), completando esta charla con la visualización de un video conmemorativo sobre el 50º aniversario de la llegada del F-5 a la Unidad.
Una vez divididos en grupos, comenzó un recorrido por el simulador, aula virtual, taller de motores, hangar RPAS y una exposición estática del avión AE.9-M con panoplia completa, situado en la plataforma de aeronaves.
Además del Jefe de Estudios y Profesores de la AGA, a la visita de los alumnos asistieron también el Subdirector del Centro Universitario de la Defensa de San Javier (CUD-AGA) y el Director del Departamento de Ingeniería y Técnicas Aplicadas del mismo, con objeto de coordinar el posible apoyo del CUD al Ala 23 en un proyecto sobre inteligencia artificial y entornos LVC en la Escuela de Caza y Ataque del Ejército del Aire. El entorno LVC está referido a la adquisición de destrezas en vuelos en avión (live), en vuelos realizados en simulador (virtual) y con el software adecuado que pueda adaptarse a ambas situaciones (constructive), así como al de entrenamiento y conocimientos generales.
